Four separate comic stories were published by Dark Horse Comics from May to July 1999. A special issue called Episode I: The Phantom Menace ½ was also published in the Wizard magazine, which in its turn supplemented the events of the other four parts.
A trade paperback was published on March 1, 2000. The comic series was also included into Omnibus: Emissaries and Assassins collection, issued on April 1, 2009, and Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: Rise of the Sith Vol. 2, issued on November 28, 2017.
