In 232 BBY, Gios attended the dedication of the Starlight Beacon. During the ceremony, Gios and many other Jedi drew their lightsabers and raised them to the stars, producing a bright light that symbolized the hope the Beacon would spread across the Republic. In 231 BBY, Gios participated, and claimed victory, in a mock duel with Jedi Knight Nib Assek aboard the Coruscant Dawn as a demonstration for GoNet reporter Rhil Dairo's all-inclusive report on the upcoming Valo Republic Fair.
After the destruction of Starlight Beacon, during which Gios sacrificed himself to save numerous lives, the logistics droid JJ-5145 gave the fallen Jedi's weapon to Jedi Master Elzar Mann, who had been one of Gios' closest friends.
During the Galactic Civil War, a replica of Gios' lightsaber existed.
