Syned One featured on its surface an alien obelisk. Every six hundred years, the alignment of the stars in the sky would make the alien obelisk reveal unusual inscriptions. By 3643 BBY, the obelisk once again revealed the writings.
Around that year, an individual associated with one of the two opposing governments in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire sent a companion to Syned One to observe the appearance of the inscriptions on the obelisk. The companion eventually deciphered a map from the writings that led them to a strange discovery.
Syned One was mentioned in BioWare's 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic in the Crew Skill Mission "The Syned Conjuction," though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Syned system, and therefore Syned One, in grid square N-17.
