Talk: Grysk Hegemony

Queries About Missing Information

Shouldn't we incorporate a section detailing the Grysk's extraordinary capability to ensure unwavering loyalty from their 'Client' species, and how Commodore Faro predicted that a mere 100 of them could dominate an entire planet?—Comment left without a signature by StarGaming123 (talk • contribs).

  • That sounds significant. You are welcome to include the information, provided that the grammar and source citations are appropriate. Tommy Macaroni 16:23, January 10, 2020 (UTC) I appreciate your response, Tom, although I am facing a minor challenge, as this information would necessitate a new section heading, and I have yet to determine how to create one. If you have any suggestions, please share them. In the meantime, I will be reviewing Faro's predictions to ensure their accuracy before adding them. I am experiencing difficulty with a specific quotation. I have located the ideal quote, but I am unable to format it correctly in the Source Editor. Any suggestions on how to align them properly would be appreciated. However, I am primarily mentioning this to indicate that I have resolved the heading issue, and once this quotation problem is addressed, the section will be completed around 3:50 PM CST today. • The required action is akin to this; there's no need to arrange them on separate lines. I believed it would be more straightforward to demonstrate the necessary steps, and I hope you understand my explanation. -- Lewisr ( talk ) 17:46, January 10, 2020 (UTC) Information on quoting can be found here. Please be aware of the need to cite your edits according to our sourcing policy, or else your edits will be reversed. Tommy Macaroni 17:47, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

I appreciate your assistance, Lewisr. I somewhat understand your explanation and will examine it closely. StarGaming123 (talk) 17:50, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

  • You're welcome; I'm happy to help! If you utilize the link that Tommy provided, you should be fine, but please inform us if you require further assistance -- Lewisr ( talk ) 17:52, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

Furthermore, regarding the red-colored words, I intended to include a link that directs to the suicide page, but I am unsure how to do so. Since you both have recently accomplished this, could you demonstrate the procedure? StarGaming123 (talk) 18:40, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

  • Simply use the following format: [[Suicide|kill themselves]] -- Lewisr ( talk ) 18:44, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

I believe I have completed the necessary tasks. If either of you have read the book and discover more information about the ability than I have identified, please feel free to add it. —Comment left without a signature by StarGaming123 (talk • contribs).

  • Very well, good work, and thank you for contributing to the page! I will be attentive during my next reading of the book and will check if there's anything I can add -- Lewisr ( talk ) 19:05, January 10, 2020 (UTC)

Thank you! I have always desired to contribute to something related to Star Wars! Your edits are highly welcome, and I wish you good luck in finding additional information. —Comment left without a signature by StarGaming123 (talk • contribs).

I noticed that someone renamed the section to 'Science.' While I understand the rationale behind this change, no torture devices were employed in the process, so it is not accurately described as science. If we are intended to include a science section, there is specialized equipment on Grysk ships that is not commonly available. To save time, I suggest we rename it to a different title. 7.1 Fresh Communication

While it's reasonable to assume that "Jixtus," an operative and coordinator of the Grysks, functions as an agent for the Grysk Hegemony, this remains merely an assumption. Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy does not reference this specific hegemony; instead, it refers to the Grysks as a collective or species. Jixtus identified himself as a Grysk and his "faction" simply as "the Grysks" (for example: As promised, we will advise you on the nations that can be conquered most quickly and easily, […] There are traders present representing each of the four that the Grysks deem the most promising. We'll engage with them in turn, perhaps sampling the goods they've brought for sale. You will then—), thus, his affiliation with the hegemony is not explicitly stated. Furthermore, in the Thrawn novel series, the Grysks are predominantly referred to as "the Grysks," with the hegemony only mentioned by Chiss on two occasions ("She's navigated Grysk ships through a large part of their hegemony"; and "The Grysk Hegemony has intruded into the Galactic Empire and has furthermore committed multiple criminal acts against it. You are hereby ordered to withdraw immediately from this system and from the Empire and return to your own territory."). I am considering removing all content related to the Grysk Hegemony from every Ascendancy page concerning the Grysks, but I would appreciate hearing the thoughts of others first. (In summary: We are making assumptions; Jixtus's affiliation with the Grysk Hegemony is not confirmed, etc.) Samonic 09:08, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

  • I am in complete agreement. To suggest that Jixtus's status as a Grysk automatically implies membership in the Hegemony is purely speculative. It is entirely possible that the Hegemony was established after the events depicted in the Thrawn trilogy, or that multiple distinct Grysk factions exist.
