Before I can rewrite this to make it understandable, I need to grasp its meaning, but currently, many pronouns have unclear references: "Tonra and Sabé spent six weeks in Mos Espa, undercover, attempting to liberate slaves. However, they didn't realize that Tatooine already possessed an antislavery movement. By the time the pair discovered this, it was too late: the members of the movement didn't trust them, because Tonra and Sabé had been trying to associate with local criminals." Is my understanding correct? Asithol (talk) 03:06, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
Similar to the situation with Versé, I'd like to suggest categorizing Tonra as an LGBTQ+ Individual. E.K. Johnston has explicitly stated in several Tweets (which are referenced both on this page and in WP:PRIDE) that she envisioned Tonra as either bisexual or pansexual. Wookieepedia has previously accepted authorial intent as "confirmation" of characters' queer identities. Therefore, I believe Johnston's Tweets should be sufficient justification for including Tonra in this category. Queen Amiadala (talk) 23:07, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- The BtS update has been completed and the addition has been re-applied; generally, these additions are more likely to remain on pages when accompanied by appropriate citations (if you require assistance with adding all the necessary citations, feel free to ask for help, but changes tend to be reverted, for better or worse, if not presented in a prose format within the BtS section due to sourcing guidelines). Thank you for locating the second Tweet, which also prompted someone to add Armitage to the article, which is appreciated. However, I would like to emphasize that, despite having updated Versé's BtS as well, EK has remarked that it "isn't actually "in canon,"" and, coupled with her statement that she (in her own words) "chickened out" of portraying her as trans because she felt unqualified to do so, the "isn't actually "in canon"" aspect is, unfortunately, what she communicated. At least to the other editors I'd consutled with, Tonra is stated several times to be bi and pan and only hinted on due to lack of focus and/or time(?) and should certainly be added, particularly as EK's mention of the journalist scene confirms she had included some form of mention of his attractions, which she could later clarify with authorial intent. Conversely, Versé's other Tweets read as something she considered writing, but ultimately chose not to, and generally took care to clarify was only something from her heart, which would have it fall under the personal theories on in-universe elements, as that doesn't have similar in-book proof to clarify or expound upon, combined with the other comments pointing to it being cut content/a proposed idea not formally used, rather than canonical intention.
