The structure included a building with a rectangular floorplan that had tan walls and a flat turquoise roof with a small central dome, in keeping with the architectural style of the rest of the city. In the current Star Wars canon, the Royal Academy was first mentioned in "Theed: Naboo's Capital City," an article in the "Guide to the Galaxy" department of the twenty fourth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine, which was released on around June 17, 2015 It was then pictured in canon in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations as part of material reprinted from the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund, illustrated by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen, and marked the first mention of the academy in the Star Wars Legends continuity.
