Unidentified Chiss family

A family that was a member of the Chiss Ascendancy's Ruling Families once included a syndic who was an opponent of Assistant Syndic Soontir Fel. Aristocra Chaf'orm'bintrano's account from 35 ABY states that this family was one of three Ruling Families that used hives of the sentient Killiks as a labor force during a civil conflict among the Chiss. Because of their continued reliance on the Killiks, the family lost its power by 28 ABY and was ultimately destroyed by Soontir Fel.

Behind the scenes

This family is mentioned in Dark Nest I: The Joiner King, the first book in Star Wars: The Dark Nest Trilogy, which was written by Troy Denning and released in 2005. The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009, named four Ruling Families who were defeated in a civil conflict between Chiss from the planets Sharb, Noris, Schesa, and Ornfra. Additionally, it noted that two Ruling Families from the planets Catlia and Massoss became Joiners. Given that the novel makes a clear reference to the former families, it is likely that this family resided on one of those four planets.
