Hello there ! I am Obi2Kenobi, the self-proclaimed Padawan of Luke Skywalker!
I am a fan of all things Star Wars related, and I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. These rich worlds just waiting to be explored are my favorite thing in this relatively boring planet of ours, where the Force sadly doesn't exist and the only real sense of magic is watching The Empire Strikes Back over and over again.
Writing, drawing, acting, and directing movies of my own are my escape, and my way to express myself. Nothing is more satisfying to me than finishing a project that I worked months or even years on and watching my hard work pay off. I mostly write Star Wars fanfiction in my native language (which is not English), and I'm maybe planning to translate some in the future.
I have a very limited understanding of the Legends lore, as I haven't consumed legends content (excluding the ROTS novelization). However, I am familiar with the legends characters and their basic stories, because I'm constantly reading about them articles here on the Wook.
Currently watching Andor Season One, but I'm okay with spoilers.
A long time ago, my father talked/referenced one of the prequel films, and I knew they were something special. I asked him about how Anakin turned to the dark side, and he explained me the story in a nutshell, making it fit for the brain of a 5-year-old. I asked him if I could watch the movies, and he told me to wait some time until I get older.
The years passed, and I started watching a youtube channel which talked about all sorts of geeky stuff: random science facts, Harry Potter theories and movie rankings. I watched all of their videos, even the ones that talked about things I didn't watch at the time: like Star Wars and the MCU. Star Wars sounded really intriguing to my young ears, so yet again, I asked my father if he could show me what was it all about, and yet again, he told me to wait until I get older.
I forgot about Star Wars for quite some time, my attention fixed to things like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Keeper of the Lost Cities, but unbeknownst to me, the seeds for the love for Star Wars were already planted inside me, waiting to be awakned someday.
When my family got Disney Plus and the Star Wars logo popped right in front of my eyes, I knew I had to watch it, and I saved it for my next "obssesion slot" after me and my sister got finished with the vast multiverse of the MCU. I tried watching The Phantom Menace while still in my MCU phase, and I found it too complicated and boring, so I left it, knowing that I will someday continue the legacy of Star Wars fans in my family and become a true geek.
A few months after that, I decided it was time to finally watch the Star Wars saga with my sister, and with the recommendation of my father, I started this time with A New Hope. The movie was fine, it didn't struck too much attention inside me, so I decided to watch the second movie in the series, worried that maybe Star Wars isn't as good as people make it out to be.
But oh boy, was I wrong. When I closed the TV screen after watching The Empire Strikes Back I was left with a lasting impression that this movie is one of the, if not the best movie created in cinema history. Even better than The Avengers which back then I considered to be the best movie ever concived by humankind.
And from that point, I became a Star Wars fan, like my father (and uncle!) before me.
