Alphabetizing on the last name basis is a bit harder and a little confusing if you ask me. I won't argue with that, but every writer that has a Dramatis Personae list, arranges them on behalf of their first name.

It is a lot more esthetic, you can find the desired character faster and you can easily see if a character is missing or no. What do you think?--Seth danny 00:32, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello Marty, you recently changed Sev's page to say that his charater was expanded in the Order 66 novel, have you read the book? he should be dead. Unless Traviss has resurrected him... I hate unbelievability ;-) — RC-1136 12:24, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Page 415, the first page of Chapter 6: "So Palpatine has a new army. I have no doubt he'll find our cloning operations a threat one day very soon, and seek to destroy our capabilities. But he's a fool if he believes we handed over all the combat-trained Fett clones to him. ~Lama Su, Kaminoan prime minister, on discovring Palpatine's new Imperial Army." There's another reference to it later. Apparently Karen Traviss liked that battle a lot, all of the references to it are in her books.--1upD 22:00, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Just want to inform you that Inyri Forge did impersonate someone. In X-Wing: Isard's Revenge, she along with the rest of the Rogues impersonated Requiem Squadron in order to infiltrate Krennel's empire. She was introduced as Inyon Fass.--ToRsO bOy 00:17, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome, Marty. This is the image from that sourcebook; its accompanying text specifies that the audience is only the Council, no other dignataries. A user known as Kuralyov, who I think is no longer active, first identified the Sedrian and I recently bumped into the source while researching for an article. It's in the scene where the real Ysanne orders to take Paltr Carvin to Lusankya. She says: Take him to Lusankya. Also have them prep my clone for a new round of programming. As for the guide, the clone is mentioned in Ysanne Isard's entry (go figure). 17:29, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Hey Jedi Marty! Thanks for contacting me to avoid a conflict :) I'll go through your points, one by one: 1. "Lieutenant" is not part of Ulabore's name, so it does not go before his name in the character appearances section. However, it does go in the Organizations & Titles appearances section as a title in the organization of Gloom Walkers. (Please check the article page to see exactly what I mean). 2. The slavers appearance was my mistake. I'd forgotten that she actually saw them there, and thought they were only mentioned, so feel free to remove the {{Mo}} tag from it :). 3. As for the placing of "The Force," well, I've looked at a bunch of other articles, and some place it under "T," whereas others place it under "F." Since it doesn't look like we have any official site policy on the matter, you can go ahead and change that back if you like. 4. I still think hyperspace routes are locations, in the sence that they are places you can go. However, once again, I'd forgotten that Paradise was located on a route that branched off of the Corellian Trade Spine; that it wasn't actually on the Trade Spine. However, Paradise, as a stationary space station, is definitely a set location, not a vehicle or vessel. As for the Corellian Trade Spine, an alternative to keeping it in the locations section would be to move it to the weapons & technology section, as hyperspace routes were considered technology (i.e., we could add Hyperlane to the Weapons & Technology section, and then put Corellian Trade Spine beneath it as mentioned only). Tell me what you think about this, and thanks again for contacting me :). Jonjedigrandmaster 15:50, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

Got it. I'll add it in. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:01, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

What's the indirect mention there? - Lord Hydronium 01:13, November 13, 2010 (UTC)

Hi Jedi Marty, I'm responding to your note to me.

"is it anywhere written, Han Solo actualy saw or even know about Centerpoint before A New Hope?": Not to my knowledge. However, this would be like attempting to claim that someone who was raised in Paris might not be familiar with the Eiffel Tower. It's not absolutely impossible, but would require a high degree of obliviousness to his surroundings, and very limited contact with other people in the city: people talk about notable features of their environment. Centerpoint Station is one of the features that makes the Corellian system unique. It's well nigh inconceivable that someone as world-wise and in tune with his surroundings as Han Solo might not know the basic details of Centerpoint, even if he'd never laid eyes on it firsthand. Nevertheless, I did couch the idea as "seemingly improbable" to allow for that bit of wiggle room.

There are plenty of other places where Wookieepedia documents things that are not explicitly spelled out in canon, but are logical consequences of things that are. My impression is that this is within the scope of the project.

"read Centerpoint Station talk page under Continuity Headache - somebody already explain very same situation there.": That unsigned explanation is intriguing, but ultimately doesn't hold water; I've followed up there. Asithol 20:18, March 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hey there. I haven't read the Young Jedi Knights books either, but I have seen the debate on message boards about whether or not the kids are Jedi Knights in the early NJO or not. I think the best course of action in this case might be to include whatever the dramatis personae says their title is, but create a "Continuity" sub-section at the bottom of the article that notes the discrepancy. Does that make sense? Like, a sentence saying "Although the dramatis personae says blah blah, they're not knighted until Destiny's Way. Menkooroo 03:21, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hi there. I'm reading through the book now and I'm adding these characters as I go along, but I haven't wrote down their page numbers. Which characters in particular are you talking about? Ressor (talk) 23:14, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I saw you edited. I just wanted to say hi. do you know another wiki with a chat we could use? Vorenus22 (talk) 21:51, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I'd counter your arguments with the fact that "Caridan system" was how the original author, Kevin J. Anderson, intended it to be named as the creator of the system. And has continued to be used even in TCSWE. As you've all already pointed out, Carida system is it's ALTERNATE name. This has already been established with regards to naming conventions for system names in the Essential Atlas/Online Companion appendix. Therefore the most canon name IS "Caridan system". May I ask what heading it is listed under in TCSWE? Rokkur Shen (talk) 23:13, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Jedi Marty. I noticed you moving categories above the interlang template in recent edits. You're right that MOS said that, but that should have been updated a while ago per this CT. Categories should now go below the Interlang template. The relevant Layout Guide section was updated, but we missed the MOS part and I've now corrected it.:) Cheers, 11:49, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, sorry about that. I was going through removing a few that I thought were unnecessary and accidentally removed more than I meant to. I was planning on going back and replacing some of the ones I removed, but I did not have time to do so yesterday. Again, I'm sorry and I'll try to go back through it as soon as I can. - Princess GLG 12:59, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Hello Jedi Marty! Pardon me if you think I'm being intrusive, but I could'nt help but notice that message you left on my friend Menkooroo's talk page. Your modesty does you credit, but you don't have to feel awkward about your being nominated as WOTM. "Small edits" like the ones you perform are absolutely necessary to keep the Wook healthy and up to date. Too few of us actually take the time to update appearances lists and consider it "grunt work." However, this has to be done, and those who do it dutifully should be thanked for that. As regards English not being your mother tongue, don't worry about that: it's not mine either, and that didn't stop me from creating GAs and FAs! ;-) You'll find that other Wookieepedians are usually glad to review your texts if you ask for help. From a former WOTM and fellow non-native English speaker. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:49, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

Czech, you said? Then I'm afraid we won't be able to communicate in your mother tongue. ^^' I don't even know the first word of Czech, and I'm ashamed to say that I probably wouldn't recognize the language if I heard it. :-$ Do you have fellow countrymen here on the Wook? --LelalMekha (talk) 13:14, August 14, 2013 (UTC)

(I'm starting a new discussion here so it will be easier.) Well yes, you can copy some of my templates and modify them. To be honest, that's how I did it in the first place because I'm not to good with html language. ;-) As regards my criteria for chosing articles for FA or GA standards, I don't really have any. Usually, I just select an article only because I like its subject! Most of the time though, I expand on articles that already exist, even at the most basic level, so I can have a ready list of appearances and sources to put me on the right path. Some of my GAs, however, were created from scratch. I only tried once to make an FA all by myself, but it did not succeed. The Royal Award Ceremony appeared or was mentioned in so many products that I just can't seem to get them all... --LelalMekha (talk) 16:09, August 14, 2013 (UTC)

No problem. Your novel work here hasn't gone unnoticed. :) JangFett 23:26, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

Congratulations on being named WOTM for September. You definitely deserve it :) Keep up the great work. Supreme Emperor (talk) 23:34, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

And now it is official. Congratulations on winning Wookieepedian of the Month! Your name is now on the Main Page for the length of September. How cool is that? :D 00:11, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

Well, my friend, you seem to be as big into Lockdown as I am. Perhaps you could greatly expand certain articles with content from this book. There's Maul, Plagueis, Palpatine/Sidious, Vosa, the Bando Gora, Jabba, Scuppa, Venamis, the Yuuzhan Vong, and even Vesto Slipher. I would appreciate it if you helped me out. Long live the Sith (talk) 17:22, June 30, 2015 (UTC)

I guess you're still reading through Maul: Lockdown, so spoiler alert, but in chapter 67 Radique is described thus: "Radique was a tall near-human with blue skin, gleaming black hair, and glowing red eyes.", the Weequays were just decoys. Also, the "sentient species (w)" category is only for species articles, for example Weequay. Trip391 (talk) 19:08, June 30, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hi RC-1136. I'm reading Order 66 now (I'm almost at the end of the book) and Sev's character was attacked (other members of Delta Squad hear that thru their comlinks). It's the same situation like in Republic Commando game at the end of the level during Mission to Kashyyyk when each of them had to shot down certain parts of big seps cruiser that blocked landing platform for Master Yoda's ship. However his faith after that is unknown and he is oficially MIA (missing in action) person now (not confirmed dead). If you're interested about his character, he's slightly more expanded in Order 66 Novel together with Delta Squad. And Traviss couldn't do anything about him, because his character is property of Lucasarts. Anyway here is the link from her blog, where she is talking more about Sev's character http://karentraviss.typepad.com/blog/2008/10/a-word-about-sev.html --Jedi Marty 02:12, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil - Appearances

  • Thanks for your quick reply as well :) Regardless of whether or not it's a rank or title, "Lieutenant" is not part of Ulabore's name, so it cannot be put as such (That would be like putting "Jedi Grand Master" before "Yoda" in each of his appearances). Also, site policy is to use ranks as a title and list them under where their mention belongs in the mention in the source. In this case, the only mention of "lieutenant" in Dynasty of Evil is Ulabore, and that was as a rank in the Gloom Walkers; therefore, it goes under Gloom Walkers (For example, see the status articleThe Clone Wars: Shakedown. It lists "Admiral" under the Galactic Republic, because in the comic, the Admiral that appears is a member of the Galactic Republic. Even though the rank appears in other factions, that's where it belongs in the appearances section.) As for the placement of the Force, I think that it would be best to try and avoid making an extra subcategory, especially with the new appearances layout; but keeping it under "T" is no problem :) And one more important point: Another site policy is to put aliases as separate characters. Aliases can be mentioned on the actual character's article, but they are not to be given articles of their own, or mentioned in appearances sections. Which brings me to one quick question, since I can't remember for sure myself. Was "Zun Haako" actually confirmed to be a separate being, or as far as we know is it just an alias used by Set Harth? Because unless it is confirmed to definitely be another being, then it needs to be removed from the Dynasty of Evil appearances, and just mentioned in Harth's article. Thanks again Marty, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too :)! Jonjedigrandmaster 00:30, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

  • I skimmed through the book and here are the pages: Ur-Sema Du = Paperback pages 91-92, chapter 15 Grievous is thinking back to the Battle of Geonosis and the Jedi he killed that day, can be changed to 'imo'; Sha'a Gi = same pages Grievous is thinking about the 'hapless' Jedi he killed on Hypori, though I think this should be changed to 'imo' since the rest are mentioned by name later; Padme's parents: chapter 42 page 277 'her parents and advisers were arrested and jailed' so I suppose we could also add Sio Bibble in the appearances section under 'imo'; Lushros Dofine: chapter 43 although not named, it's pretty obvious that the Neimoidian talking to Grievous is Dofine. I hope this helps. Ressor (talk) 11:13, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I saw you edited. I just wanted to say hi. do you know another wiki with a chat we could use? Vorenus22 (talk) 21:51, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

Caridan system

  • As per my post on Cade's talk page, unless you can provide an overwhelming number of "in-universe" sources for it being named "Carida system" then it should remain "Caridan system". The Essential Reader's Companion, Atlas Online Companion etc are "out-of-universe" sources and do not override "in-universe" naming conventions. As an addendum, if we're taking the latest "in-universe chronological" placement for articles then the page should then in fact be moved to "Carida Nebula". Rokkur Shen (talk) 23:24, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
  • I appreciate it also Marty, I really do. The lengths you've gone to is above and beyond. What are your thoughts on moving it to "Carida Nebula"? Rokkur Shen (talk) 00:13, February 2, 2013 (UTC)

MOS and categories

Hey Jedi Marty. I noticed you moving categories above the interlang template in recent edits. You're right that MOS said that, but that should have been updated a while ago per this CT. Categories should now go below the Interlang template. The relevant Layout Guide section was updated, but we missed the MOS part and I've now corrected it.:) Cheers, 11:49, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

  • Ok, thanks Grunny for letting me know. Cheers--Jedi Marty () 11:55, February 27, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Removing Appearances

Hey, sorry about that. I was going through removing a few that I thought were unnecessary and accidentally removed more than I meant to. I was planning on going back and replacing some of the ones I removed, but I did not have time to do so yesterday. Again, I'm sorry and I'll try to go back through it as soon as I can. - Princess GLG 12:59, March 24, 2013 (UTC)

Hello there!

  • You're welcome. Keep up the good work, by all means! GA and FA makers surely think such edits are useful to better prepare their subjects. :) Dare I inquire what your first language is? You don't seem to have too much trouble with the English language—not any more than I do, in any event. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:35, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
  • Hey Marty! Lelal's already said everything that I wanted to say, so I'll just add my encouragement to his. You're doing a great job, and the "grunt work" that you're doing with novels' Appearances sections is absolutely essential. Wookieepedia strives to provide comprehensive coverage of SW books/comics/movies/etc., and complete Appearances sections are essential to that mission. Keep up the good work! And yeah, don't worry if English isn't your first language; about half of the WOTM winners from the last year speak English as a second or third language, too. Menkooroo (talk) 11:52, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

A few things

Re:WOTM nomination

No problem. Your novel work here hasn't gone unnoticed. :) JangFett 23:26, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

WOTM

Congratulations on being named WOTM for September. You definitely deserve it :) Keep up the great work. Supreme Emperor (talk) 23:34, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

  • Absolutely. Congrats. :) —Cal Jedi 23:36, August 31, 2013 (UTC)

And now it is official. Congratulations on winning Wookieepedian of the Month! Your name is now on the Main Page for the length of September. How cool is that? :D 00:11, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

  • Woow I don't know what to say :) I had no idea it could feel so good. Though what I value most is certainly your guys support through that award and trust in my abilities. Thank you all so much again for your support!!! -- Jedi Marty () 00:28, September 1, 2013 (UTC)

Maul: Lockdown

Well, my friend, you seem to be as big into Lockdown as I am. Perhaps you could greatly expand certain articles with content from this book. There's Maul, Plagueis, Palpatine/Sidious, Vosa, the Bando Gora, Jabba, Scuppa, Venamis, the Yuuzhan Vong, and even Vesto Slipher. I would appreciate it if you helped me out. Long live the Sith (talk) 17:22, June 30, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hey, I wouldn't say big as you're. My purpose is described on my user page. I'm going thru Legends timeline again and reading what was released later - in this case Maul: Lockdown. I add missing info from the novel, mainly to appearances of the novel article as you noticed. And I'm sorry, but I've no intention to mess up with important articles like Plagueis, Palpatine, Jabba (there is a lot of info missing and I simply don't have a time for that in my busy life). I'm just casual contributor now. --Jedi Marty () 18:10, June 30, 2015 (UTC)
