Talk: LOST-Malachi

Hello, LOST-Malachi. You are encouraged to specify on your userpage if you have edited Wookieepedia before and are now using a different username to edit the wiki. While changing your username is perfectly acceptable, please be advised that it is not ok to use a different username in an effort to assume a different identity or hide your true identity. This may be construed as a violation of Wookieepedia's sockpuppetry guidelines, and in extreme cases, may result in the user being blocked from editing for an extended period of time. Thank you, and have a Wookiee-tastic day! Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:38, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed you added the {{update}} template to Ysanne Isard. What exactly is the information lacking? Is it just the card, or something else? -- AdmirableAckbar 12:16, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

Could you please provide some proper verification for this Season 2 guide that you're using as a source? It currently turns up no online records anywhere. Thank you. CC7567 07:04, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Hello sir, I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what information from Clone Wars Adventures I'm missing in the article for the First Battle of Saleucami. I'm not able to play the game so any help you could give me on the matter would be much appreciated. Darth Trayus 19:17, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I've been told that you own The Price of Victory. Could you provide me with the information from the cards about the 501st? Many thanks. Chack Jadson 23:17, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Hey there, Malachi. Cheers for being on the ball regarding the updates required for the Imperial Knights. In the future, it might be prudent to wait a little more than two days after the issue's release before adding it, but it's all good, baby. Also, if you're interested in editing it yourself, definitely feel free to be bold and add the info, as long as there's no sort of inuse tag on the article or anything. If you're familiar with Wookieepedia's sourcing guidelines, then your contributions are more than welcome, even on Featured Articles. :D Thanks again, and I hope to see a lot of editing from you in the future! If you're interested in Legacy, feel free to check out and join Wookieepedia:WookieeProject Legacy Era. Menkooroo 16:07, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, LM, I'm a n00b to the Galxies TCG, but can you explain what you mean that Snoova is only a computer-controlled avatar in the game? The card is clearly labeled "Avatar," which, the rules seem to indicate, a player can take on that persona if he or she plays the correct faction. Not so? ~ 05:02, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

You may not have noticed, but I have the P8 Lamprey pistol up on the CAN. I was unaware of its appearance in the last SWTCG expansion. Could you provide me with what it says on the card about so I can integrate into the article. Thanks! OLIOSTER 02:26, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

Because T-canon sources conflict with each other—"Rookies," "Clone Cadets," and "Darkness on Umbara"—we shouldn't simply move the article without some explanation about how Fives received a new name. At the moment, there is currently nothing, and his name was mentioned without reasoning in the episode. If Fives' name was mentioned in a lower canon source, such as a TCW sourcebook, then a move would be considered. Personally I would wait until we find out how he received that name before moving his article. Now only this, Fives' encyclopedia entry mentions CT-27-5555 as well. I would, however, add his new designation in the intro and mention a inconsistency in the bts for now. Hopefully you understand, JangFett 16:03, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

The Old Republic codex is not an independent source, and should not be added to articles as such. Please refrain from doing so. If you feel the need to specify that the mention was in the codex only, then feel free to add after The Old Republics entry in the appearances list. Darth Trayus 10:34, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

I don't have any access to the material pertaining to that card game campaign, I was wondering if you possibly help me with that. Thank you. DjMack 19:35, January 15, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Malachi, I noticed you added Lost Tribe of the Sith: Secrets to the Shikkar article's update tag, but said it was only mentioned in the eBook. Was there any new information about the weapon, or was it just mentioned in passing? If it's the latter, then no update is needed. Thanks for your help! Jonjedigrandmaster 22:01, March 15, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Mauser. I noticed that you removed the links to the CCG cards in Rayc Ryjerd's sources section. This shouldn't be done, as removing the link results in the cardname not actually showing up. The link should be included using the URLs from this website. Cheers. Menkooroo 01:46, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, please take a look at my move comments on the Invasion of the Minos Cluster page. Also, remember that major changes to Featured Articles, such as name movements, should at least be mentioned to the writer of the article, as page moves require more work than just the move edit itself. ...Where did you get this scan of File:Of Possible Futures.jpg? Is it possible to obtain a larger scan size? I scanned in the image from my book, but it will require a good bit of touching up before I can upload it (my scanner hates glossy paper). Thanks. Trak Nar 08:20, October 10, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Mauser. Please note that the majority of the images that you just uploaded from The Essential Reader's Companion require proper cropping—they might be higher quality from the artist's website, but just about all of them have either too much whitespace or too much empty space for proper visual use on the site. It would be a great help if you could take some time to properly crop the images (as the original versions were) and re-upload them before the old versions get deleted. Thanks. CC7567 20:35, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Mauser. I think you're pretty much one of, if not the only, person who may have access to this stuff, so I thought I would ask you if you have a clearer version of the "Falleen's Fist Blueprints" card from the SWGTC set Agents of Deception. I'm trying to translate the Aurebesh on that card, but that upload is too blurry to be able to make out the smaller print on there. Thanks for any help you can provide. Hey man, if you're going to move articles, then please correct the article after the move. See my edits here. I'm not sure if you're aware, but per the Mofference, we have to include the parentheses symbols in the infobox now. See my edit here. Thanks, JangFett 17:15, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I might have considered keeping it if a) you had provided a link to the article in question in your edit summary rather than "(to better distinguish from the other one)" which led me to believe that you are refering to the Fia species rather than a separate individual, and b) if you had gone through What Links Here and changed the links to corresponding articles so they weren't redirects, which as Fia is a status article, would have been useful. I have no problems with you changing it back if you also alter the redirects, but as it stood from your edit summary, the move made no sense. - Sir Cavalier of One 20:00, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for pointing out my mistake with the name on the Grahuur article. I don't know how I missed that.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 16:30, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

It's not letting me restore the old corrupted revision. The image shows up fine on my end, however. Trak Nar 07:43, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

With many of the articles you've been creating recently, there is a common theme of problems. When putting an infobox in an article, make sure the whole infobox is there, otherwise, this could happen, and there are no "hideb", or "hidep" sections. Another thing would be to make sure that redirects are accurate, you can always hit preview before you save. If someone is a commander, or a doctor, it doesn't need to be capitalized unless it is directly referring to them as such (Doctor Jones, and Jones was a doctor). Also, with categories, make sure that there is no space between the colon, and that they are placed in alphabetical order. Trip391 (talk) 20:28, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

I don't know if you ever read the civility policy, but it says a little something about judgemental edit summaries. Writing "duh" in an edit summary, is a big no-no, in case you were curious, or simply did not know. Trip391 (talk) 06:32, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Because there is another Watcher Three, . Cade Calrayn 04:44, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, just wanted to bring something to your attention. When redirecting pages, please take care to redirect them to their target page, rather than redirect the page to itself, as had happened here. It's an honest mistake with pages with similar titles, so I figured that I'd let you know that this happened, so that you can catch it if it happens again. :) Trak Nar 07:50, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

While your edit to Galactic Empire is appreciated, the page currently has a template called {{Inuse}} at the top. This template means that someone is currently working on improving the article, and to avoid edit conflicts, no one other than the placer of the template should edit the page while the message is visible. Thank you for your cooperation. Trip391 (talk) 09:03, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Malachi sir, I noticed that you made series of large edits that contained significant amount of information, but they all were commentless and marked as minor. I would kindly ask you to not mark edits as minor if they're adding or changing content significantly and also to provide edit summary in order to help other editors know what is happening. Thank you (: –  09:40, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Really? I just... I don't why? Can you tell me more? Please--64.134.191.225 17:40, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Mauser, if you're going to upload new versions of images, please don't replace headshots with full-body shots. Please crop the images so that they fit in the infoboxes correctly. Thank you. Cade Calrayn 04:33, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Malachi. When moving mainspace articles, please try to add the {{Delete}} template to the talk page of the old article that is left as a redirect, because it's an unnecessary redirect. Adding the template will make it easier for admins to make sure the talk page redirects get deleted. Thanks. CC7567 22:38, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

Mauser, please try to slow down and take a closer look at the articles you're making. On many of them, you're not changing the names of the characters as you copy-paste the text, and you're making typos and leaving incorrect information on articles while you head off to the next one. A simple look-over can get rid of these errors. Cade Calrayn 20:34, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

I was wondering who this article is about? I assumed, as it is named "Dorant", it is about a character named Dorant, but the first sentence names the character as Vernon for some reason? I'm pretty sure it's not about a character named Vernon though, because I just had to fix some capitalization errors on a page for a doctor/xenobiologist named Vernon. In any case I changed the name in the article to Dorant, to be on the safe side. Trip391 (talk) 18:41, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Malachi, thanks for putting the new content tag on Spine Dragon! I was wondering if you remembered the name of the quest in which the dragon is mentioned so I can research it and update the article. Ayrehead02 (talk) 12:55, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

I know about the button seeing as how I've used it before, Mauser, but thanks for letting me know. Trip391 (talk) 19:41, September 4, 2013 (UTC)

The {{Youmay}} tag is best suited on Darth Krayt's Empire article than on a non-canonical article. Does a Legacy source say "New Galactic Empire"? Please find out. Turning that article into a disambig page is better imo. JangFett 21:17, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for 2 weeks for continued sloppy mistakes that force administrators to clean up after you and which could be easily avoided by slowing down to double-check your work before you submit it. Tonight I am referring to and . These mistakes that you are making are not normal, especially given the alarming frequency with which they are occurring. I said it above and I will repeat myself: Wookieepedia does not have a deadline. If you can only get ten images uploaded in a session instead of twenty, so what? The rest can be uploaded in another session. Please take these next two weeks to slow down and think about what you are doing wrong. And then when you return, continue slowing down so that we admins do not have to continue cleaning up your messes, because if we do, you will be blocked again. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. 02:57, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for perpetuity for circumventing your current block by continuing to edit through multiple IP addresses, a violation of Wookieepedia's Sockpuppetry policy. For what it's worth, I want you to know that I did not come to this decision lightly. I took over a day to ponder the best course of action and consulted more than half a dozen administrators, all of whom gave their blessing for this decision. In deciding on a permanent ban, I took into consideration your previous block history as User:Mauser, your cantankerous and often disruptive editing history and behavior, and the fact that you demonstrate a complete disregard for both this community and its laws in light of your block circumvention. But the factor that really led me to make this decision is my belief that time will not rehabilitate your behavior given your aforementioned history. I do not believe there is a non-permanent duration of time I can issue you that will allow you to return to editing with a more respectful and constructive attitude and behavior.. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:58, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

Multiple usernames

  • I would like to reiterate this message to you one last time, since you've evidently chosen to ignore it. It's perfectly acceptable to change your username at any time, but it is not okay to attempt to assume a different identity in order to avoid a previous editing history here on Wookieepedia. This is considered sockpuppetry. Please be aware that the Wookieepedia administration can easily determine whether someone is in violation of sockpuppetry, so ignoring this message or trying to deny one's true identity will ultimately get you nowhere. It would be my personal recommendation to you that you either leave a notice on your userpage(s) signifying who you are or redirecting your previous userpage to your current account, so that it's clear that your intentions are good. If you continue to ignore this message, I will have no choice but to consider you as attempting to assume a different identity, and therefore in violation of the sockpuppetry policy. Thank you for your cooperation. Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:38, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Wait, nevermind. Looks like the old revision is there. Trak Nar 07:44, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Formatting

  • Also, make sure that all articles are written in the past tense, as per Wookieepedia's policies, and if someone's gender isn't listed in the article, don't refer to them as he/sh; and put the "Unidentified gender" category on the bottom. Trip391 (talk) 21:36, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Civility policy

I don't know if you ever read the civility policy, but it says a little something about judgemental edit summaries. Writing "duh" in an edit summary, is a big no-no, in case you were curious, or simply did not know. Trip391 (talk) 06:32, August 7, 2013 (UTC)

Redirecting pages

Hello, just wanted to bring something to your attention. When redirecting pages, please take care to redirect them to their target page, rather than redirect the page to itself, as had happened here. It's an honest mistake with pages with similar titles, so I figured that I'd let you know that this happened, so that you can catch it if it happens again. :) Trak Nar 07:50, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Inuse template

While your edit to Galactic Empire is appreciated, the page currently has a template called {{Inuse}} at the top. This template means that someone is currently working on improving the article, and to avoid edit conflicts, no one other than the placer of the template should edit the page while the message is visible. Thank you for your cooperation. Trip391 (talk) 09:03, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Major edit is not minor edit, comrade (;

Images

Mauser, if you're going to upload new versions of images, please don't replace headshots with full-body shots. Please crop the images so that they fit in the infoboxes correctly. Thank you. Cade Calrayn 04:33, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • In a similar note, headshots are far better than the wide full-body shots you've been uploading; it'd be great if you could crop them to be head-and-shoulder shots. Also, if you're going to be taking images in TOR, please shut off the NPC labeling in your game options so that the NPC names don't show up in the images. CadeCalrayn 19:46, August 14, 2013 (UTC)

Moved talk pages

Hey Malachi. When moving mainspace articles, please try to add the {{Delete}} template to the talk page of the old article that is left as a redirect, because it's an unnecessary redirect. Adding the template will make it easier for admins to make sure the talk page redirects get deleted. Thanks. CC7567 22:38, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

TOR articles

Mauser, please try to slow down and take a closer look at the articles you're making. On many of them, you're not changing the names of the characters as you copy-paste the text, and you're making typos and leaving incorrect information on articles while you head off to the next one. A simple look-over can get rid of these errors. Cade Calrayn 20:34, August 21, 2013 (UTC)

Name confusion

I was wondering who this article is about? I assumed, as it is named "Dorant", it is about a character named Dorant, but the first sentence names the character as Vernon for some reason? I'm pretty sure it's not about a character named Vernon though, because I just had to fix some capitalization errors on a page for a doctor/xenobiologist named Vernon. In any case I changed the name in the article to Dorant, to be on the safe side. Trip391 (talk) 18:41, September 2, 2013 (UTC)

Spine Dragon

Hi Malachi, thanks for putting the new content tag on Spine Dragon! I was wondering if you remembered the name of the quest in which the dragon is mentioned so I can research it and update the article. Ayrehead02 (talk) 12:55, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

  • Everything relevant I posted in edit summary. I don't keep track of the quests' name and I don't use game files/databases much to avoid spoilers. It's Imperial Agent storyline on Taris, in the backstory of your main opponent on that planet which is told through several quests and conversations basically. Check Ki Sazen for starters, but there is more, I believe. LOST-Malachi () 16:07, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Re: "Minor edits"

I know about the button seeing as how I've used it before, Mauser, but thanks for letting me know. Trip391 (talk) 19:41, September 4, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Galactic Empire

The {{Youmay}} tag is best suited on Darth Krayt's Empire article than on a non-canonical article. Does a Legacy source say "New Galactic Empire"? Please find out. Turning that article into a disambig page is better imo. JangFett 21:17, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

  • You can move Galactic Empire (The Star Wars) to New Galactic Empire (The Star Wars). I don't know why you want to move it there, unless the source calls it New Galactic Empire. JangFett 01:39, September 7, 2013 (UTC)

Blocked
