The Xan sisters were a group of female siblings from whom the criminal Val "borrowed" a pair of weather-coated racing goggles sometime prior to her involvement in a heist on the planet Vandor in the year 10 BBY. Shortly before the heist began, Val complained to her partner Tobias Beckett that they should have hired the Xan sisters or the bounty hunter Bossk to aid them in the job instead of the their gang's newest muscle; Han Solo and Chewbacca. Val was later killed in an explosion during the heist, and was still wearing the Xan sisters' goggles when she was consumed by flames.
At a later point during the Age of Empire, the sisters were allied with the bounty hunter Zingo Gabnit on Carajam.
The Xan sisters were first mentioned in the 2018 Star Wars Anthology film Solo: A Star Wars Story. Their name was chosen as an homage to Hanoi Xan, a criminal mastermind from the 1984 film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.
