Tobias Beckett's crew was first revealed in the very first look at the upcoming Star Wars Anthology Series film Solo: A Star Wars Story, the "Big Game" TV spot released during Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018.
Early story outlines for Solo included an additional member of the gang, a "squid-monkey" named Zapf, who was eventually amalgamated into Rio Durant's character.
