Yagaran Four

The Yagaran Four were a bounty hunter team from the Mid Rim's Yagara system. The starship drive mechanic known as "Maniac" worked for the team, and he subjected the hyperdrive of their YT-1300 light freighter to a dangerous modification. When the Yagaran Four later activated the hyperdrive during a pursuit of a bounty target on the astronomical object Elin Roe, the craft instead exploded, killing the team.

Description

The Yagaran Four were a team of bounty hunters that originated in the Yagara system of the Mid Rim's Hadar sector. They made use of a heavily armed YT-1300 light freighter and employed the Krish mechanic known as "Maniac," who specialized in work on starship drive systems. The Yagaran Four insisted that Maniac improve the hyperdrive of their light freighter, and the mechanic indeed performed a modification on it, albeit a dangerous one.

History

At some point by the time shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the Yagaran Four pursued a target on which a bounty had been posted. During the chase on the Colonies celestial body Elin Roe, the team activated their freighter's hyperdrive, which caused the starship to explode. The bounty hunters were killed, and a cloud of radioactive dust subsequently washed over Elin Roe's fifth moon. Maniac himself survived the team's demise. Later, in a personal addendum to an entry dedicated to the Krish that was part of a datafile detailing various Rebel Alliance operatives, Alliance General Airen Cracken noted that the deaths of the Yagaran Four were understandable given Maniac's reckless tendencies.

Behind the scenes

The Yagaran Four were created by Peter Schweighofer and were introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
