During the Clone Wars, the Grand Army of the Republic's 501st Legion captured a ridge lined with Zabrak Spines immediately after deploying on Umbara, and then made their way through Zabrak Spine forests toward the world's capital, eventually having to proceed down the main road into the city, which was also lined with Zabrak Spines. After falling back from their attack on the capital, the clone troopers instead moved to capture an Umbaran base surrounded by Zabrak Spine forests.
