Zalor Minister

Zalor Minister, also referred to as Zalorian Minister, was a title for government officials on the planet Zaloriis in the Zaloriis system in the Expansion Region during the rule of the Galactic Empire. Multiple ministers held the position at a time and were responsible for paying Imperial tributes, although they were not informed of the testing of secret weapons such as the All Terrain Armored Transport on the planet.

The Human Zalorian Transe Decar was a Zalor Minister shortly before the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY, during the Galactic Civil War between the Empire and Rebel Alliance. In that time, Decar and the population of Zaloriis defected to the Rebellion, attracting the attention of the Sith Lord Darth Vader after Zaloriis's monthly tribute was left unpaid. Vader met Decar on Zaloriis, where the minister revealed the defection and tried to ambush Vader with a group of Zalor Militiamen. However, Vader slew Decar and crushed the Rebel uprising.

The title of Zalorian Minister was first mentioned in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Prima's Official Strategy Guide by Steven L. Kent,—released on November 7, 2001—before appearing as Zalor Minister in the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released on November 11, 2001. In the game, the title is usually given as "Minister," but the full title is provided in the reconnaissance report of the level "An Empire's Fury," as well as in the game's credits and captions, where Transe Decar was credited as Zalor Minister.
