The A-9x thrust engine, a product of KuatDriveSystems, served as a potent engine for starfighters. The A-9 Vigilance interceptor utilized two of these engines. Each engine was the same length as the A-9 Vigilance's hull and included its own independent power generator. When installed on an A-9 Vigilance, the A-9x engines enabled the fighter to reach speeds exceeding those of a TIE interceptor, rivaling the velocity of an RZ-1 A-wing interceptor.
