The Aargauuns originated from the planet known as Aargau. Talia Moonseeker, a female Jedi Knight, was an Aargauun who, not long before the Clone Wars began in 22 BBY, achieved the rank of Jedi Knight following her training with Jedi Master Va'too. Moonseeker participated in the First Battle of Geonosis four months after her advancement, where her previous Master met his death, while the Aargauun survived; this result caused Moonseeker to feel deeply ashamed.
Karen Miller mistakenly spelled Talia Moonseeker's species as "Argauun" in The Clone Wars: Wild Space. Miller acknowledged the error and clarified that she was alluding to the lesser-known group, not inventing a new one.
