Admiral Ackbar's home was situated on the banks of Victory Lake on Coruscant. This building served as the personal dwelling for the Mon Calamari fleet commander, Gial Ackbar.
The house was composed of two small, cylindrical towers, each only two stories high. One tower, painted white and devoid of windows, sat directly at the water's edge, providing an entrance from the shore. The other tower, generously equipped with transparisteel windows, extended further into the lake. An enclosed skywalk connected the upper levels of the two towers, allowing passage between them.
The house and the adjacent shoreline could be illuminated by at least two sets of powerful lights. One row was positioned along the underside of the skywalk, and a second group of lights was located underwater, forming a ring around the base of the outer tower.
Although the house seemed like a typical residence, the outer tower was actually a water-filled structure, formally called an aquahab, but which Ackbar personally called a "water column". This served, among other things, as Ackbar's sleeping area.
The top floor of the aquahab was designed as an indoor pool, encircled by a circular walkway. Below the pool's surface, the water-filled lower level extended to the shallow lakebed, where an underwater entrance provided direct access to the open water. A single-person water skimmer was moored on the lake's surface nearby.
From the pool area at the top of the aquahab, the enclosed skywalk led to the upper floor of the shoreline tower. This was a more standard residential structure. The ground floor contained a circular room, furnished with at least one comfortable chair, and suitable for casual meetings and conversations. Beyond this was an outer entrance area with a door that opened onto the land, where a Defense Force valet droid served as a gatekeeper.
A parking area was located at the back of the building, outside the door, and a drive led from there to a guarded entry gate.
The parking area behind the house could accommodate not only ground vehicles, but also small spacecraft such as orbital jumpers. However, visitors without high security clearance were required to leave their vehicles at the entrance guardpost and walk up the drive to the house.
In 17 ABY, at the beginning of the Black Fleet Crisis, Ayddar Nylykerka, an Asset Tracking analyst, successfully gained access to Ackbar at his Victory Lake home. The Tammarian overcame his fear of water to successfully inform the admiral about the existence of the Black Fleet in the Koornacht Cluster.
Shortly thereafter, Ackbar arranged a private, off-the-record meeting at his home between Admiral Etahn A'baht and Hiram Drayson, the head of the Alpha Blue intelligence agency. This was so that Drayson could share his concerns about the situation in Koornacht with A'baht.
Ackbar's residence is featured in the novel Before the Storm. The aquatic setting is a reflection of the Mon Calamari fleet commander's amphibious nature.
Ackbar mentions his study at one point while inside the house, but the novel doesn't specify the room's precise location. Therefore, it's impossible to say canonically whether it should be considered separate from the ground-floor "inner room" that appears later in the same book.
