Aguarl 3, situated within the Aguarl system in the Expansion Region, was a planet primarily composed of water.
As the Galactic Empire ascended to power, this planet declared its allegiance to the Imperial Senate; however, Aguarl's tranquility was short-lived. Following the initial Imperial assault on Dac, numerous Mon Calamari and Quarren insurgents established a stronghold on the world. About half a year following the Battle of Yavin, Princess Leia Organa of the Alliance to Restore the Republic was getting ready to depart from Kalla's Stanchion for Aguarl 3 to confer with Prime Minister Yenley, but her departure was postponed due to the sighting of Imperial troops, which compelled the rebels to disperse their fleet temporarily.
Later that month, while Organa was inspecting the Rebel installation on the planet, a Quarren informant disclosed its whereabouts to the Empire. The planet was attacked by four TIE bombers from the Ravagor, but only one, piloted by Ranulf Trommer, managed to survive the planetary defenses. Trommer's use of concussion missiles forced the rebels to abandon their base.
