Ali-Vor was a Jedi Master of the male persuasion; he served the Jedi Order throughout the twilight years of the Galactic Republic.
Being a male individual with sensitivity to the Force, Ali-Vor was instructed in its usage by the Jedi Order. After his promotion to the rank of Jedi Knight, Ali-Vor continued his education, finally reaching the rank of Jedi Master. He chose Initiate Rann I-Kanu to be his Padawan, and together they ventured into the galaxy to learn and evolve.
In 32 BBY, Ali-Vor dispatched I-Kanu to the planet Naboo for extra learning at the Royal House of Learning located in Theed. While his apprentice was in training, Ali-Vor headed an investigative group on Naboo to look into an unlawful wildlife smuggling ring that had been brought to the attention of the Jedi High Council. As he was constructing a case against the criminals, Ali-Vor summoned I-Kanu and tasked him with finding the smugglers' secret base within the swamps.
