Rann I-Kanu



Rann I-Kanu was a Human male Padawan who served the Jedi Order in the twilight years of the Galactic Republic, trained by Jedi Master Ali-Vor.

Biography

Early Life

Born in 47 BBY, Rann I-Kanu was a Force-sensitive Human male. He was soon inducted into the Jedi Order for training due to his strong connection to the Force. Later, Jedi Master Ali-Vor, a Jedi scholar, chose I-Kanu to be his Padawan.

Battle of Naboo

Sometime before 32 BBY, when I-Kanu was 15, Ali-Vor took him to the planet of Naboo. There, the Padawan's education was furthered through enrollment in the Royal House of Learning in Theed. Upon learning of smugglers removing local fauna from Naboo, Ali-Vor charged I-Kanu with investigating these rumors. I-Kanu then sought out the help of his friends and classmates: Galak, a young soldier volunteering for the Royal Naboo Security Forces; Rorworr, the son of a Wookiee ambassador; and Arani Korden, the adventurous daughter of a nobleman from House Korden.

Korden used her contacts to acquire a map leading to the smuggler's base, and the group followed it to the location. They discovered a hidden base within an overgrown jungle shrine, and infiltrated it. Inside, they fought and defeated a small group of smugglers, and learned that the smugglers were taking dangerous veermoks off-world. I-Kanu and his companions then found Professor Tasrah Boh, a Naboo archeologist from the House of Learning. The smugglers had captured him when he drove his speeder too close to their hideout. After defeating a Remote programmed to attack intruders, they freed Boh from his cage. Following a conversation with I-Kanu and his friends, Boh escaped the hideout.

I-Kanu and the others then encountered Saidle Frex, an armored mercenary who had hired the smugglers, and another man wielding a Vibro-ax. The Padawan and his friends defeated both men and returned to I-Kanu's master with information about the smuggling operations. He played a small part as a member of the Naboo Underground in the defense of Naboo against Trade Federation forces during their occupation of the planet. Along with his old friends and new allies from the House of Learning, he participated in weapons theft and the liberation of prisoners from the Droid army and the Neimoidians. On one occasion, he freed the Naboo Minister of Culture, Kyu Tane.

Order 66

Years later, as the Clone Wars drew to a close, Emperor Palpatine initiated Order 66, a galaxy-wide execution order. This command instructed every clone troopers to unhesitatingly execute their Jedi Generals and Commanders, which led to the Great Jedi Purge. After the Republic was reformed into the Galactic Empire under the control of the Sith, Rann I-Kanu was among the Jedi who survived Order 66, but Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine's apprentice, hunted them relentlessly. The Sith declared Rann I-Kanu and Sia-Lan Wezz eliminated, but some, including Rorworr, believed he was missing during the Empire's reign.

Powers and abilities

During his time as a Jedi, I-Kanu mastered Force powers such as battlemind, Force healing, and Force sight. He was also considered a strong Force user and a capable fighter.
