Alkhara's tower
Alkhara's tower stood as the highest structure within Jabba's Palace. This tower, comprising nine levels, derived its name from the outlaw Alkhara, who possessed the palace before Jabba and undertook its refurbishment. The B'omarr monks were responsible for its construction, incorporating a spiral staircase that facilitated the monks' ambulatory meditation, allowing them to traverse the tower's levels during their practice. Jabba utilized the tower's advanced surveillance equipment, communication dome, and Hyperwave communication system to stay informed about events in the galactic criminal galaxy's sphere.
Behind the scenes
According to the 2005 publication Star Wars: Complete Locations, Alkhara was responsible for the tower's addition. Conversely, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia credits the B'omarr monks, the original builders of the palace, with the tower's construction. Given that both sources acknowledge Alkhara's renovation of the tower, this article presumes that the B'omarr monks were its original architects.
Alkhara's tower is generally portrayed as the tallest feature of Jabba's Palace. However, the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars introduced a taller tower, an addition not present in the palace's initial appearance in Return of the Jedi.
