The descriptor "amphibicanoid" originated when describing the frog-dog within the short story "Lone Wolf: A Tale of Obi-Wan and Luke," penned by Abel G. Peña and published on StarWars.com on March 6th, 2015. The initial visual depiction of a frog-dog occurred in the movie Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi on May 25th, 1983.
