Anabar was a Human merchant of the male gender. He resided in Mos Espa, a city found on the planet of Tatooine. His life took place during the blockade of Naboo in 32 BBY. He made his living by selling bowls of dweezel and baskets of pallie in close proximity to the Mos Espa Grand Arena. He was also known to be acquainted with Grendle, a fellow merchant.
When Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn was looking for something "a little more dangerous" than chokie, Grendle suggested he speak with Anabar. Although Anabar initially declined to provide the Jedi Master with either a plasma fusion trigger or a proton missile launcher, he was willing to offer Jinn a thermal detonator as an alternative. Initially, he refused to accept Jinn's credits as payment, but he quickly changed his mind after being subjected to his customer's mind trick.
Anabar makes an appearance in the Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace video game released in 1999. Players, controlling Jinn, have the option to interact with Anabar to obtain a detonator. This documentation assumes complete game completion, with the game's strategy guide endorsing this course of action to acquire a thermal detonator.
