Andasala, a planet dedicated to mining activities, existed on the Llanic Spice Run within the Andasala system, situated close to Svivren.
This world became a refuge for lawbreakers and pirates, initially established as a mining outpost by Gesenix Mining. The announcement of its abundant natural resources led to a surge of settlers, many of whom migrated from nearby Svivren.
Andasala served as a significant hub for spice transshipments.
Following the Ruusan Reformation within the Galactic Republic, Andasala was discovered, yet it consistently remained outside the Republic's territorial boundaries throughout its history.
During the Clone Wars, Andasala managed to stay neutral. However, during the Galactic Civil War, it garnered attention due to numerous Imperial conflicts occurring along the trade routes surrounding the planet. The rise of crime lord Valis Lorn marked the beginning of the world's nationalization. Settlements expanded and improved as undesirable elements were removed, enhancing safety. Lorn's cartel, in control of the government, expelled petty criminals. Sires Vant, a Devaronian, implemented a money-lending operation on the planet. The inhabitants kept up with galactic affairs through the Andasala Achievement News, which he founded.
Andasala was conceived for the eleventh issue of the Galaxy Guide, released in 1994. It later appeared in The Essential Atlas, which repeated the misspelling "Andalasa" that originated in Pirates & Privateers. This error was eventually fixed in The Essential Atlas Online Companion.
