Anise I'Zak's story tells of a Human female Jedi Knight who fought for the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic amidst the Clone Wars. Back in 22 BBY, I'zak journeyed to the planet Hitaka, where Jedi Generals Ki-Adi-Mundi and Aayla Secura gave her a mission: transport a canister to the clone commander at one of the Republic's bases located there. Her journey was fraught with peril as Separatist battle droids repeatedly tried to stop her. During one such encounter, the canister she carried was shattered. Despite this setback, I'Zak pressed on, reaching the base and delivering the remains of the canister. It was then revealed that Mundi and Secura had used her as a distraction, allowing them to complete the true mission assigned by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Accepting this, I'Zak reaffirmed her dedication to the Republic's cause.
Born a Human female in the waning decades of the Galactic Republic, Anise I'Zak underwent rigorous training in the Force under the guidance of the Jedi Order. Her rebellious nature and penchant for causing trouble led many Jedi Masters to doubt her ability to ascend to the rank of Jedi Knight. Nevertheless, in 22 BBY, shortly after the Battle of Geonosis that marked the beginning of the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, I'Zak managed to complete the Trials necessary to become a Knight, albeit through unorthodox means, earning her Knighthood.
Soon after her promotion, I'Zak was sent to the planet Hitaka, where she connected with Jedi Generals Ki-Adi-Mundi and Aayla Secura at a Republic-controlled station. There, Mundi tasked I'Zak with smuggling a secret canister across enemy lines to Base "B", a Republic camp situated on the east side of the world. She was cautioned about the CIS battle droids squadrons patrolling the forests and fields. As she journeyed toward the base, I'Zak faced attacks from the droids of the Separatist Army, which she successfully fought off. However, she then stumbled upon an occupied house and was ambushed by droidekas, causing her to crash into the house and interrupt a native family's dinner. With the family's help, I'Zak defeated the droidekas, but not before one of them destroyed the canister she was carrying. Overcome with despair, she was interrupted by a group of super battle droids, who she engaged and destroyed to release her frustration.
By dusk, I'Zak reached Base "B" and handed the broken canister to the clone commander, lamenting her apparent failure. However, Mundi and Secura surprised I'Zak by revealing that her mission had been a success, as she had effectively distracted the droid armies, allowing the Generals to complete the true objective given to them by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Despite her displeasure at being used in this way, she understood that it served the Republic's best interests.
Anise I'Zak had fair skin marked with freckles. Her blue eyes and blond hair were complemented by the traditional brown Jedi robes. In combat, I'Zak wielded a lightsaber powered by a green crystal. She was known for her bold and outspoken nature, often using expletives to manage her emotions or conceal her mistakes. Many Jedi Masters believed that her attitude would hinder her advancement to Jedi Knighthood. Nevertheless, she managed to pass her Trials using unconventional methods. Upon first meeting Mundi and Secura, she expressed disdain for the Padawan braid she once wore and mentioned her love for repairing her speeder. After the canister was destroyed, I'Zak showed remorse for her perceived failure and unleashed her anger on a squad of super battle droids. Learning that she had been a decoy, I'Zak concluded that the Jedi Generals had leaked information about her whereabouts to the Separatists, though she conceded that it was necessary for the mission's success and expressed gratitude for her role.
I'Zak was a skilled Jedi, capable enough to be promoted to Knighthood despite her unorthodox methods. She demonstrated proficiency in combat against the droid armies on Hitaka, using acrobatics to evade blaster fire and her lightsaber to defeat her enemies. In one encounter, she used telekinesis to wield her lightsaber and destroy three droids who demanded her surrender. I'Zak also showed the ability to absorb blaster energy with her hands.
Anise I'Zak's debut was in the comic story "Chain of Command," penned by Jason Hall, illustrated by Ethan Beavers, and published by Dark Horse Comics in the tenth volume of the Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures trade paperbacks on December 19, 2007.
