Anj'a, a Twi'Lek female, earned her living as an entertainer during the era of the Galactic Civil War, some time after the Battle of Yavin. Despite her claims of neutrality, whispers circulated that she secretly aided the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the conflict. Her image graced the front of every fashion holo-mag and was displayed on the computer screens of every HoloNet user throughout the galaxy. Both the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion considered her the galaxy's most sought-after holo-pinup, a fact that greatly irritated Imperial officers.
Fascinated by the Nightsisters from the planet Dathomir, Anj'a incorporated one of their energy lances as a dance prop in her performances. Moreover, she possessed a custom-made suit of Rancor bone armor that she frequently wore. A piece of art, a painting, was commissioned depicting Anj'a performing her chart-topping galactic hit, "Booombaaa Boombaa Bombashella," at the outdoor theater located on Vreni Island on the planet Corellia. Anj'a's song was unique because it was the only time a non-human artist reached the top of the music charts while under the rule of the Empire.
Anj'a's likeness could be seen in a painting featured in the 2003 MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, and also on a card within the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game set titled Threat of the Conqueror. The painting and card shared the name Intense Performer, and the artwork was the creation of a player named Anj'a, who emerged victorious in a 2010 contest, earning them the opportunity to have their art integrated into the games. The appearance of the artwork as a painting in Star Wars Galaxies comes with a brief biography of Anj'a the entertainer.
