Ankarres Sapphire
The Ankarres Sapphire, alternatively known as the Antares crystal, represented a crystal celebrated for its mythical curative properties, alongside a spectrum of other capabilities. Among the crystals applicable in lightsaber construction, it stood out as one of the most remarkably effective. Furthermore, this crystal possessed considerable strength, capable of providing assistance to a Jedi during combat.
Overview
According to legend, only individuals aligned with the light could wield this sapphire. Should a person influenced by the dark touch the crystal or a lightsaber containing it, the object would gradually intensify in temperature, resulting in a burn. Reportedly, this property could be inverted if the crystal fell into the possession of those with malevolent intentions.
Meetra Surik may have discovered the crystal at some point around 3951 BBY. It was also in the possession of Dom Pricina aboard the Kuari Princess, until 4-LOM pilfered the jewel at some time before the Battle of Yavin. The droid pawned the sapphire off on Darlyn Boda, but after failing to sell it, 4-LOM retrieved it and returned it to his partner, Zuckuss. He subsequently attempted to utilize the Ankarres Sapphire to heal both the Gand and Samoc Farr. Since then, it has remained with the bounty hunter.
