Asamin system

The Asamin system, situated within the Strabin sector, held the designation of a star system found in the Mid Rim. It was a significant location for the production of spice. This was the birth place of Zayl Braith, a Human who came from a prosperous family of merchants. Braith transitioned into a smuggler, conducting operations within the star system and beyond. Later, her involvement with a criminal organization led her to depart when their actions conflicted with the interests of her previous allies in the Asamin system. A decade afterwards, the system became integrated into the New Republic.

Description

Within the New Territories region of the Mid Rim, the Asamin system was located as a component of the Strabin sector. Its position along the hyperlane called the Essien Run provided hyperspace connections to the Tartaglia system in the Hollan sector, a star system within the Homon sector, and another system in the Mezeg sector. The Asamin system was well known as a center for the creation of spice.

History

The smuggler Zayl Braith was born in the Asamin system.

The Human female, Zayl Braith, originated from the Asamin system. She was born there into a wealthy family of merchants who primarily conducted their business along the Essien Run, particularly within the Asamin system. At a young age, Braith began to associate with smugglers and eventually worked for Captain Thi Sawrtin on numerous smuggling operations within the Asamin system.

During a particular operation in the Noonian sector of the Outer Rim Territories, Sawrtin and Braith were apprehended by the Galactic Empire's authorities, who killed the captain and imprisoned Braith. She eventually managed to escape from imprisonment and subsequently began smuggling for a criminal syndicate headed by the Sullustan gangster Tiron Til. Around 2 ABY, a group of Trandoshan smugglers tried to monopolize the spice trade in the Asamin system. After Til made several deals with the group, Braith, due to her loyalty to her former partners, departed from Til's syndicate. Between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, the Asamin system became a part of the New Republic.

Behind the scenes

Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games, was the first place the Asamin system was mentioned. Later, The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book, placed it in grid square M-7.
