In the year 3954 BBY, Darth Nyriss, a Sith Lord, orchestrated a pair of assassination attempts designed to target herself. The purpose of these staged attacks was to divert attention from the conspiracy being planned against the Sith Emperor. The setup was intended to suggest rebel involvement, but further investigation would point to Darth Xedrix as the true instigator. While Darth Xedrix, a Dark Council member, was also involved in the Conspiracy, Nyriss considered him a declining figure who depended on manipulation. Given his long-standing rivalry with Nyriss, he was the prime candidate to be sacrificed to safeguard the Nathema conspiracy. Lord Scourge, dispatched by the Sith Emperor, alongside Sechel, one of Nyriss's most reliable advisors, were tasked with uncovering the source of the attempts. Their investigation ultimately led them to Darth Xedrix, who Lord Scourge executed under Darth Nyriss's orders.
