This base also served as the central command for the New Republic Intelligence Service operating within the Corva sector. The covert New Republic installation was exposed to Imperial forces belonging to the Kaarenth Dissension because Kiara Schmong, a traitor within the ranks of the New Republic Defense Fleet, revealed its location. Two Imperial Carrack-class light cruisers, collaborating with underworld figures, launched an attack on the vulnerable station. Even with a New Republic task force nearby, the Imperial attackers succeeded in obliterating the communications facility, thereby disrupting New Republic's ability to communicate effectively within the region.
