Atheloe, a Lutrillian of the male gender, existed during the era of the Galactic Civil War. He was present inside Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina on the very day that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker hired Han Solo along with the Millennium Falcon for transportation to Alderaan during the year 0 BBY. Atheloe occupied a seat that was situated near the entrance and also quite close to the bar area.
Atheloe's creation was as a background character for the cantina scene in the 1977 film, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and he was one of only two members of his species to make an appearance in the movie. John Mollo designed the character, and Stuart Freeborn sculpted his mask specifically for filming in England. The sole distinguishing characteristic between the two Lutrillian costumes was an ascot, which was worn by just one of the actors; members of the production crew referred to at least one of these characters as the Colonel, and at least one as the Hare Mouse. Lucasfilm's staff decided to call one of these characters Ownellco when Kenner requested official names for the various patrons of the cantina. The article titled "Cantina Roll-Call: Shedding Light on Some Alien Aliases" incorrectly combines these two Lutrillians into a single character, making it unclear as to which of the two Lutrillians was intended to be named Ownellco. However, the article titled "Rogues Gallery: The Unusual Suspects: Who's Who in Mos Eisley" clarifies that the Lutrillian who wears the ascot is, in fact, Ownellco, and it assigns the name Atheloe to the seated Lutrillian. The name "Atheloe" was first presented as an example of a Lutrillian name within the pages of Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds.

Atheloe's presence is not very prominent, and he is seen on screen for only a short amount of time, as he is only briefly seen sitting near a pillar that is located directly in front of the cantina's entrance. One of the Lutrillians can later be seen as he walks along the streets of Mos Eisley. Atheloe is featured more prominently in a version of the cantina sequence that was not finalized.
