Atticus Farstar, a male Human general who sided with the Separatists, participated in the Clone Wars. Following the conflict, Atticus led a number of Separatist survivors to Ostor, a planet situated in the Outer Rim. Their rationale for hiding there was their conviction that the Galactic Empire, previously known as the Galactic Republic, would be unable to locate them. However, the Imperials, under the command of Sith Lord Darth Vader, discovered Atticus and his followers and launched an invasion of the planet. The Imperial commander, General Rohn, was unsuccessful, and the offensive became known as the most significant military failure for the Imperials during that period. Hock Malsuum, a clone stormtrooper who fought in the battle, later stated that, despite being on opposite sides, he held Farstar in much higher regard than Rohn when it came to leadership qualities.
After the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars-legends] concluded and the leaders of the Separatist Alliance were eliminated by the Empire, General Farstar, along with other surviving separatists, retreated to Ostor, located on the fringes. They believed they could elude the Empire's power grab and live in seclusion. Some months after the war ended and the Galactic Empire was established by Emperor Palpatine, Farstar was in charge of a separatist cell, which was nevertheless discovered by the Empire. Darth Vader put General [Rohn](/article/rohn] in command of the Imperial forces, tasking him with defeating the separatists in a military offensive and taking control of the planet. The Empire's initial assault resulted in a major setback, as it triggered Farstar's diversionary tactic, successfully drawing the Imperial troops into a canyon where the separatists launched a surprise attack, nearly wiping out the entire enemy force. Subsequently, Darth Vader dispatched a second wave of attack, this time with aerial support. This ultimately breached the defense and eliminated the separatist group's leadership, which included Lima Starcourt, Phootla Veer, and Reebo Keen.
