Aurin Leith

A Human female physician named Aurin Leith served the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a member during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography

Early life

Aurin was born on Coruscant and later attended the Byblos Academy of Medicine located on Byblos, where she graduated and became a doctor. She refined her medical skills at the University Faculty Medical Center on Ralltiir. Eventually, she enlisted with the Rebel Alliance and became a medic aboard a hospital ship, specifically stationed on the Pharos.

Mission to Selnesh

Shortly after joining the Rebellion, Aurin received a "temporary detached duty" assignment to Koris Haslam's commando unit. This group included Haslam, Melenna Seltrayne, Gowan Ch'lessan, Liak, and Barsoulentinial Enkhet. Their mission was to prevent Gebnerret Vibrion, the leader of a Rebel cell captured by the Galactic Empire on Selnesh, from divulging sensitive information, either by rescuing or eliminating him. Vibrion, an elderly Human suffering from Zithrom's syndrome, required regular doses of Clondex to live, which is why Dr. Leith was added to the team. Aurin was disturbed by the idea of killing Vibrion, as it went against her medical oath to "do no harm." She ultimately consented to administer a dose of conergin to sedate him if Haslam found it necessary to kill him.

The commandos devised a plan to infiltrate the prison. Haslam would impersonate an Imperial officer, Gowan and Enkhet would pose as stormtroopers, Melenna and Liak would act as smugglers suspected of Rebel sympathies, and Aurin would pretend to be a passenger on Melenna's ship mistakenly picked up. Upon entering the prison, Haslam claimed to be with Imperial Intelligence and convinced the guards to vacate Vibrion's cell block and disable the security cameras. Aurin was able to treat Vibrion, who had managed to smuggle some Clondex into the prison, and the team then escaped through the access tunnels.

Regrettably, upon reaching the hangar bay, Aurin noticed a stormtrooper ambush. Unable to warn the others in time, she was compelled to shoot the trooper herself, violating her medical oath. Despite this, the team successfully escaped, and Aurin received the Field Achievement Award, which was given to all field operatives who survive a mission. Distraught over having taken a life, she discarded the award in a drawer and never looked at it again.
