The Field Achievement Award represented a commendation presented to Alliance to Restore the Republic personnel who successfully navigated their inaugural mission throughout the Galactic Civil War. Aurin Leith, an Alliance physician, earned this award after the successful completion of her initial assignment in the field, specifically a rescue operation targeting an Imperial holding facility. Despite this success, Leith ended the life of a stormtrooper of the Empire during this operation. As a result, she concealed her Field Achievement Award within a drawer, as it served as an unwanted reminder of taking the life of a sentient being.
This medal, the Field Achievement Award, was granted to every field operative within the Rebel Alliance who managed to survive their first mission during the Galactic Civil War against the forces of the Galactic Empire.
During the conflict, Doctor Aurin Leith, who worked on an Alliance medical vessel, found herself temporarily reassigned from her usual duties. She was to act as a combat medic attached to an elite team assigned to a mission aimed at extracting a captured Rebel leader being held within an Imperial detention center. The mission succeeded, but Leith was compelled to eliminate an Imperial during the team's escape from the installation.
Leith, constrained by a medical vow to abstain from harming any sentient life, was deeply troubled by having taken a life, even that of an enemy soldier. After the mission's conclusion, Leith received the Field Achievement Award for having survived her first operation in the field. However, she perceived the medal as a constant reminder of the life she had taken and chose to hide it away in a drawer, never wanting to see it again.
The short story called "Do No Harm," penned by Erin Endom and initially released by West End Games within Star Wars Adventure Journal issue 10 in May of 1996, made mention of the Field Achievement Award.
