Around 200 BBY, a language known as Bab-Prime emerged, serving as the foundation for the droidspeak we know today. Yperio Baobab conceived this language to facilitate extensive data exchange between droids and computers.
Not long after its inception, Bab-Prime underwent substantial modification by a cybersociologist employed by the Baobab Merchant Fleet. In an attempt to develop a personality algorithm rooted in Human characteristics, this unfortunate individual inadvertently spawned a complex computer virus. The ensuing widespread infection severely impacted the droid community, leading many droids to develop rudimentary personalities and emotions. This development led to the regular application of memory wipes to droids.
Eventually, Bab-Prime transformed into what is known as Bab-Neo, or "Babno".
