Bant'ena Fhernan, a female Human native to Corellia, was a Corellian who existed during the era of the Clone Wars. She hailed from the planet of Corellia.
Early in the conflict, against the wishes of her mother, Mata Fhernan, she joined a research expedition to Niriktavi Bay situated on Taratos IV. While present there, the Confederacy of Independent Systems mounted an invasion of the planet, resulting in the deaths of the majority of her associates and her own capture. She was handed over to Lok Durd, who coerced her into developing a bioweapon designed to dissolve organic material. Later, she encountered the two Jedi, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Skywalker pledged to liberate her and safeguard her family, who were under constant surveillance by the Confederacy. Durd discovered this arrangement and threatened her nephews, finally pushing Fhernan to betray the two Jedi to Durd. Despite the Jedi, informed by Skywalker and Kenobi about Fhernan and her family's situation, successfully rescuing all but one of her relatives and friends, Fhernan remained ignorant of their safety. She continued her work for Durd, which ultimately led to a terrorist assault on Chandrila utilizing the weapons she created.
Fhernan was immediately remorseful for letting her concern for her family control her actions. She was constantly haunted by the thought of the countless parents who had been lost on Chandrila, all innocent civilians. Amidst this turmoil, the Jedi dispatched reinforcements to assist Skywalker and Kenobi, and Jedi Master Taria Damsin was dispatched with the mission to rescue Fhernan and destroy Durd's base. Upon realizing the complications involved in both initiating the explosives and ensuring a safe escape, Fhernan volunteered to remain behind and trigger them herself, hoping to atone for her actions. Damsin concurred, and after evacuating the area, Fhernan detonated the bombs, resulting in her own death and the complete destruction of Durd's base.
