The kyber crystal known as Barab ingots originated on Barab I, a planet exposed to radiation. These crystals, located in the mountains of the planet, appeared in groups and emitted heat upon contact. Furthermore, they possessed a luminous quality and, if incorporated into a lightsaber, generated a potent, incandescent blade, simultaneously rendering the entire lightsaber mildly radioactive.
