Barada M'Beg, a figure of legend among the Klatooinians, was the one who put his name on the Treaty of Vontor on behalf of Klatooine and its inhabitants, circa 25,100 BBY. Despite their involvement in the conflicts opposing Xim the Despot, and their ultimate contribution to his downfall, the species was permanently bound to the service of the Hutts. As a tribute to this ancient leader, numerous male Klatooinians were perpetually given the names Barada or M'Beg.
