The criminal organization known as the Bartog Syndicate was led by Ace of Staves and made their base of operations on the Laughing Sullustan, a ship docked at Zirtran's Anchor. They chose their name as an homage to Quentin Bartog, the previous owner of the Laughing Sullustan. Inhabitants of the Anchor often compared the Bartog Syndicate to a traveling carnival, populated by individuals such as gamblers, scoundrels, crooks, counterfeiters, rogue droids, and unsuccessful bounty hunters. Their loud celebrations and other behaviors were a constant source of irritation for Defensus Solar.
