The Conflict on Antar 4 stands as a pivotal event during the Separatist Crisis.
During the period of New Year Fete Week, the Roshu Sune, a splinter faction aligned with the radical Confederacy of Independent Systems, detonated numerous explosive devices within the chapterhouses of the Antarian Ranger organization across the Gotal world known as Antar 4. This orchestrated chaos was then exploited by the Roshu Sune to declare an Article of Secession.
Driven by vengeance, hundreds of Antarian Rangers journeyed to Antar 4 from various locations across the galaxy. Reinforcements also arrived in the form of several Jedi battalions, led by Masters Saesee Tiin and Coleman Trebor.
The engagement that followed resulted in significant casualties among the Rangers, Jedi, and civilian population. In a desperate measure, the Jedi deployed an electromagnetic pulse weapon, inducing severe pain and disorientation among the Gotal populace. Capitalizing on this moment, the Jedi were able to secure a victory.
Although the Galactic Republic achieved a tactical victory in the conflict, it was a costly one. The use of the EMP weapon alienated the Gotals, turning them against the Republic. Furthermore, the slow and ineffective initial response revealed the Republic's vulnerability to the galaxy at large.
In the eighteen months leading up to the Conflict on Antar 4, the Confederacy had gained over one thousand new member worlds. In the subsequent three months following the conflict, this number surged by over five thousand.
The battle also led to a decline in public perception of the Jedi Order, as they were viewed as having failed to prevent the conflict from occurring in the first place.
