In response, the Imperial Armada, under the command of Sith Lords Darth Angral and Darth Malgus, launched an orbital assault against the Republican forces. This conflict persisted for more than a month, with the majority of the fighting taking place in space and the lower atmospheric regions surrounding the planet. Despite the Empire's eventual success in driving off the Republic forces, the Jedi Order and Republic Military swiftly counterattacked on the Sith-held world of Ashas Ree.
