Batuuan Spira

Batuuan-spira The Batuuan Spira The ancient currency used at Black Spire Outpost was known as the Batuuan Spira. Circa 34 ABY, it appeared as a hexagonal token constructed from either a muted yellow or a shiny silver metal. On its front side, the token displayed the word "Spira" along with the Aurebesh letters "BSO," representing Black Spire Outpost, positioned above a design featuring three vertical columns and a half-circle. A smaller, complete circle rested on the half-circle's edge.

Behind the scenes

The Batuuan Spira has a real-world counterpart: a gift card. To acquire it, a minimum of $100 must be loaded onto the card, along with a $4.99 activation fee. It was initially offered at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland when the themed area opened to the public on May 31st, 2019. It functions as a standard Disney Gift Card, usable wherever those cards are accepted.

Initially, the Spira was available in a dull yellow or golden color when Galaxy's Edge first opened. However, this version was later taken out of circulation and replaced with a silver version on September 1st, 2020. The silver Spira came with the additional $4.99 activation fee. A copper version was introduced on May 4, 2024.
