Belsed-Qan Idan was a Jedi Master of the Human species (a male) who served the Jedi Order during the Galactic Republic's last decades.
Having been discovered to possess Force-sensitivity, Belsed-Qan Idan underwent training by the Jedi Order to learn the ways of the Force. Eventually achieving the rank of Jedi Master, Idan specialized as a Jedi Watchman (a Sentinel's specialization) and received an assignment to Aargau.
As the Separatist Crisis expanded its reach within the Galactic Senate, the number of conflicts increased throughout the galaxy. After the Pirates of Iridium began causing problems in the Atrivis sector, the Jedi High Council requested Idan's assistance on a diplomatic mission to negotiate terms with the pirates. Idan accompanied Master Kit Fisto aboard the Monitor III, but near the planet of Vuchelle, they were ambushed by the pirates who were using a power gem. Idan, flying a Delta-7 interceptor against the pirates, attempted to contact them in order to halt the battle before the pirates made it worse. Although the Jedi prevailed against the pirates, a tragedy occurred on Aargau while Idan was away. Senator Aks Moe of Malastare perished in a massive explosion that consumed his transport on Aargau. Representative Ainlee Teem, a Gran, considered it an assassination and faulted Idan for not being present to prevent Moe's death.
