Berl, an Imperial stormtrooper, was assigned to the superweapon called the Tarkin during the year 3 ABY. While the Rebel droids C-3PO and R2-D2 were in the process of sabotaging the [Tarkin]'s tractor beam generator, Berl encountered them. Berl made threats towards the droids, but Chewbacca, their Wookiee companion, came up behind him, lifted him, and threw him into the generator, which resulted in both the generator's destruction and the trooper's death.
