Beta 3 was the designation for a TIE fighter pilot serving within the Galactic Empire's Beta Squadron, a callsign they used. While pursuing a rebel spy, Commander Tylux gave Beta 3 instructions to only disable the spy's ship, not to completely destroy it, because their capture alive was required.
