The Black Mask, comprised of Vect Nokru, Vidara Jurness, and [Ayo Bons], functioned as a group of mercenary operatives throughout the Imperial Era. During that time, the Imperial Inquisitor, known as the Third Sister, assigned the Black Mask the mission of kidnapping Leia Organa, the Princess of Alderaan, as a tactic to draw Obi-Wan Kenobi, the fugitive Jedi Master, from his concealed location.
Following the transportation of Organa from Alderaan, a planet located in the Core Worlds, to the world of Daiyu, the Black Mask successfully apprehended Kenobi. Nevertheless, the Jedi and Organa were able to break free by creating a diversion for the mercenaries using spice.
