Blorash jelly

A blorash jelly Blorash jelly, also known as quick-jelly, represented a Yuuzhan Vong-originated weapon. This weapon took the form of a shapeless, gelatin-like mass, deployed to render adversaries immobile.

Characteristics

The blorash jelly was a living organism, genetically engineered by the Yuuzhan Vong to function as a weapon that warriors could manipulate in combat. A Yuuzhan Vong warrior transported this amorphous jelly within a specially-designed container, where it remained in a compressed state. During battle, the blorash jelly was launched towards an opponent—typically targeting their lower extremities—at which point it expanded significantly. Despite its seemingly soft consistency, the jelly possessed remarkable strength, capable of securing nearly any object with an exceptionally firm hold. Even substantial physical force proved ineffective in dislodging the blorash's grip.

The blorash jelly had the ability to encircle an enemy's foot, extending tendril-like masses further upwards, onto the victim's leg. As it advanced, the blorash jelly inflicted harm upon the targeted individual, who was then rendered immobile. The jelly proceeded to consume the victim's flesh as it progressed, resulting in severe wounds even if escape was eventually achieved. In certain instances, the blorash's controller did not even need to participate directly in the conflict; the blorash jelly was capable of eliminating an enemy if not promptly removed. While not sentient, the blorash jelly exhibited the capacity to move and respond to thermal signatures or potential sustenance.

Under specific circumstances, removal was indeed possible. The Yuuzhan Vong possessed the ability to govern the weapon, enticing it away from a designated target using food, often to facilitate a more equitable confrontation for the sake of warrior honor. However, such occurrences were infrequent, necessitating the development of countermeasures against the blorash jelly by the New Republic. Chemical compounds like arsensalts could disrupt the jelly's grasp, liberating the victim before substantial harm occurred. Jedi Knights also had the option of bisecting the jelly with their lightsabers—although this often exacerbated the problem, as it resulted in the creation of two independent, living blorash jelly entities. Tesar Sebatyne and another Barabel Jedi managed to extricate themselves from the blorash jelly by severing the tips of their tails, a tactic employed by their species to evade predators.
