During the Battle of Kamino in 22 BBY, which occurred early in the Clone Wars before specialized clone trooper starfighters were developed, the Jedi members of Blue Squadron piloted Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor under the command of Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, using the call sign . Their mission was to defend Tipoca City from any Trade Federation C-9979 landing craft that managed to bypass Red Squadron's initial defenses. General Kenobi was shot down into the ocean by a droid starfighter, but he was rescued from both enemy fighters and local predators thanks to the intervention of his padawan Anakin Skywalker and the Kaminoan cloner Taun We.
