Boonta Eve Podrace (YJCCG)

The final expansion card pack, and the eighth overall, for the Young Jedi Collectible Card Game was Boonta Eve Podrace. Decipher produced it, and it was launched on September 5, 2001. The set's theme centered around Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, with a particular focus on elements surrounding the Boonta Eve Podrace. Almost every card included in this expansion features a yellow border. Furthermore, it introduced fresh Light Side Podracer pilots to the game. The expansion also introduced a new "objective" card, named Boonta Eve Podrace. This card simulated Podracing, allowing players to compete using pods and pilots to achieve victory. Players could attach "Thrust" cards, with destiny numbers ranging from 1 to 6, to their podracers. Upon reaching a total of 6, a "lap" token was placed on the objective card. The "thrust" cards would then be cleared, and a new lap would begin. The first player to successfully complete three laps wins the game instantly, regardless of the current planet in play or the progress of the players' decks (refer to the victory conditions on the main Young Jedi Collectible Card Game page).
